The EMSCC (Ethel Milliken School Community Council) is working on a project to install an outdoor learning space at the school. It will require a tremendous amount of fundraising and community involvement! We are asking for your assistance:
1. Flyers will be coming home today with the youngest family member at school. On the flyer there is a detachable portion to be returned along with payment back to the child’s teacher. Because this is a capital project, this is considered to be a charitable donation so we can then issue a tax receipt! (see details on the form)
Cheques must be made payable to EMSCC.
2. We hope to collect enough funds in this first campaign to start the STAGE 1 project which includes picnic table seating for 30 students. The estimate cost is $15,000. Once that project is complete, we will begin a second campaign to fundraise for a shaded cover for the outdoor learning space. Please see the flyers or the school website for more details!
3. If you have any great ideas on how to ramp up the fundraising efforts, we are interested to hear from you. We welcome feedback and ideas! If you wish to get involved and help with this project - just let us know! You can email Terri Navid at firstname.lastname@example.org or txt her at 306-535-1815 or talk to the principal Mr. Miezianko.
Thank you for helping to make your child's school at better place to learn and grow!
EMSCC Apology for Movie Night 2015
Parents and Students at Ethel Milliken,
I want to personally apologize to those of you who took the time to attend our failed movie night in 2015 and I want to further apologize to those who volunteered their time to help set the movie night up for success. I am extremely thankful for all of your support for the movie night and, more broadly, for the work of the EMSCC.
We are working to do better for 2016 and are committed to making our community's experience at Ethel Milliken and with the EMSCC positive and fulfilling.
