The Argyle School Community Council presents
SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age
A documentary about the biggest parenting issue of our time.

Monday, March 13th, 6:30 to 9:00 pm
Sheldon-Williams Collegiate, 2601 Coronation St

FREE to attend.  Click here to register online.

Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that happening with her own kids and began a quest to uncover how it might impact their development. As with her other two award-winning documentaries on mental health, Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find balance.

SCREENAGERS addresses the most pervasive parenting issue of our time head on—depicting teen struggles over social media, video games and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides practical resources to help them do it.

Target Audience: Parents of children attending the Sheldon Feeder Schools (Argyle, Lakeview, Milliken, Connaught and Davin). Film suitable for children aged 8 and up.

Child Exploitation and Social Media - Parent Presentation

Saskatchewan ICE Unit

The following workshop is NOT for children.

Due to the increasing crimes of exploiting children through the use of the Internet, a proposal seeking an Integrated Unit to investigate these crimes was brought forward to these respective Policing agents and the Provincial Government. The Sask ICE Unit became operational in the spring of 2009.

The Unit’s mandate is to reduce Internet-facilitated child sexual exploitation by identifying
victimized children and investigating and assisting in the prosecution of sexual offenders.

Child exploitation through social media is much more common than you might think
and this workshop will be extremely useful for parents of children of all ages in Regina.
Please consider attending.
