ART CARD PROJECT

Your child is bringing home some WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL ART today!

This ART CARD project was initiated last year and it was a huge success!  Your child's art becomes your holiday greeting card.  You can order as many as you like and share with family and friends!

What a great way to start the holiday season by supporting your child's school and promoting their art exhibit!

REMINDER

FRIDAY DECEMBER 11th is the last day to submit your order for the ART CARD

The order form is on the inside of the ART Card

Donations and Volunteers gratefully accepted at this time of year!

This year at Ethel Milliken students are once again collecting items to support Albert Community School and their "Treasure Store". The purpose of the drive is to collect gently used (or new) items that their students can “shop” from to ensure that everyone in their homes is able to receive gift at Christmas.  Items such as toys, books, games, jewellery, and other small items are acceptable. Stuffed toys, candles, and blankets are discouraged. Thank you for your support.

Every year Ethel Milliken School also collects donations of food and small gifts for the senior citizens of Regina who have no family and would otherwise have a lonely Christmas season. Below is a wish list of items for our Senior Baskets. Gifts of money, to purchase items to complete the baskets are also welcomed.

School Directory Deadline for Submission Monday November 9th

EMSCC is in the process of creating a school directory.  It is a list of the students’ names with contact information.

It is useful for the students and parents when trying to get together with friends or plan parties.

Our school has grown a lot and a directory is a good tool for helping us get to know one another!

Participation in the directory is VOLUNTARY.  If you would like to participate, please fill out any or all of the contact information below and return to school with your child by Monday November 9th.  You must sign and date the permission section in order for the committee to be able to publish your information.

Ethel Milliken Student Directory Form and Newsletter

It is with regret that the Ethel Milliken School Community Council cancelled the Halloween Howl.  In years past, the Halloween Howl has been one of the school’s premier events but it has high volunteer needs with few people willing to do the work.  The Ethel Milliken School Community Council is a group of parents / community members working together to enhance the academic and social lives of Milliken’s children and support our staff. Our goal is to create opportunities for our children.

In order to ensure the EMSCC can plan and host events for your children in the future, there are ways you can help:

1.    Attend an EMSCC meeting: we meet once a month on the first Tuesday at 7pm in the school library.  Everyone is always welcome.  Here are the dates of the meetings for the rest of the year:

Nov 3rd, Dec 1st, Jan 5th, Feb 2nd, Mar 1st, Apr 5th, May 3rd, Jun 7th

Please mark these on your calendars and consider attending.

2.    Sign up to get our blog directly to your email inbox.  Go to the Ethel Milliken School website, www.ethelmillilken.rbe.sk.ca . The EMSCC posts information on our blog which is accessed from the home page, bottom left hand side.  Click on the SCC homepage and enter your email address to receive our blog.  The link to this page is www.ethelmilliken.rbe.sk.ca/Welcome .

3.    Send us an email with your suggestions, questions, and concerns or to volunteer.  Support Milliken personally or through your business/employer with your ideas, time, talents, services or monetarily!  Our email is ethelmillikenscc@sasktel.net

4.    Check the box on the attached form indicating you are willing to volunteer.

Our next project is to complete the school directory.  It is simply a list of the students’ names with contact information.

Thanks for your time and support.  We look forward to seeing you and your children at future events.
