Special Air Quality Advisory

From Deputy Direcor Rick Steciuk:

As there is significant amount of smoke in the air and Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Advisory relating to the smoke, we recommend that any outdoor activities today be minimized, including physical education classes, and that recesses be held indoors. Outdoor Education trips have been cancelled for the day.   

SCC Bike Safety Night

On Wednesday, May 17, your SCC is hosting a family bike safety night from 6:00-7:30 pm in front of the school. The event will include safety checks, a bicycle obstacle course, a bike wash station, bike decorating and other fun events. Students must attend with a parent or guardian and you need to bring your own bike. Helmets are required for all participants under the age of 16. There will be a small cash canteen available with proceeds going to our new sound system!

Hawks to Eagles Open House/Welcome Event

On Thursday, May 11 we will be hosting an event for Harbour Landing families who will be transitioning to Ethel Milliken for the 2023-2024 school year. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and will provide opportunities for families to visit with each other, to meet staff, to meet our SCC, and to explore the school. The format will be a come and go scavenger hunt. There will also be a small canteen available with popcorn, candy bags and swirl world frozen yogurt. We will draw for a family games night basket at the end of the event!

Planned Boundary Changes (Updated)

March 24, 2023 – UPDATE!

On March 21, 2023, the Board endorsed the boundary changes for Ethel Milliken School beginning in the 2023-24 school year. The Board also endorsed a permanent change to the high school feeder system that will direct students graduating from Grade 8 at Ethel Milliken to Campbell Collegiate instead of Sheldon-Williams Collegiate. Current Grade 8 students will be offered the option to attend either high school this upcoming 2023-24 school year.

Important Letter from Director Darren Boldt

Please click here to read an important letter from Director, Darren Boldt regarding the boundary changes and feeder school changes which will impact Ethel Milliken School. Families who live in the area designated to move to Argyle school will receive a separate letter through Edsby and a hard copy will be sent home for each of these families on Friday, March 24 along with a transportation registration form.
