Covid 19

Unfortunately, the SHA has notified us of another positive case of Covid-19. The impacted class and bus will be notified through the classroom Edsby and transportation will provide a letter to students who ride the impacted bus this morning. If you do not receive a letter, your child's class or bus has not been impacted. Covid-19 rapid tests are available at the school for any families with students 11 and under who want them. Call the school at 306 791-8489 to request a rapid test kit.

Remembrance Day Poppies

Although we will not be hosting a formal in-person Remembrance Day ceremony, each classroom will be marking the occasion with in-class discussions, activities and a virtual presentation. Poppies are available for all students to purchase by donation. All funds raised through poppy sales go to the Royal Canadian Legion supporting veterans across Canada. With the lack of in-person services due to gathering restrictions in many places across the country, the legion is anticipating a reduction in funds usually generated through poppy sales.

COVID Cases Identified

November 1, 2021 – The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) informed us that there were two cases of COVID-19 at Ethel Milliken School.

All individuals who the SHA considers to be in contact with the positive case will receive a letter from the SHA.

If there are any future close contacts identified at the school, they will be contacted directly by Public Health.

Covid-19

Unfortunately, the SHA notified us of 2 positive cases of Covid-19 in our school. Families in the impacted classrooms have been notified by letter from the SHA. The SHA guidelines are that unvaccinated students are required to self-isolate for 14 days from last exposure but they may leave isolation only for the purpose of attending in-class learning at school provided they are feeling well. Please continue to self-monitor and to keep your children home if they are ill. Covid-19 rapid tests are available at the school for students who are not yet eligible for vaccination.

New Covid Rapid Tests

The SHA has sent us a new shipment of rapid tests for families with school children under 11 through the test to protect program. Unlike the previous kits of 25, these kits contain 5 tests each. Families may call the office to request a test kit and indicate if you will pick it up or if you would like it sent home with your child. We will limit to one box per family to start. If you run out and require an additional kit, please call and we can provide them if we still have stock available. Please remember these are for personal use and not for your business or other ventures.
