September 7, 2021 -- When there is a case of COVID-19 involving a Regina Public Schools student or staff member, the school division takes the following steps.
This letter with specific details from the Saskatchewan Health Authority is sent to all individuals who the SHA considers to be in contact with the positive case. Every one in that group is requested to self-monitor or be tested according to details in the letter.
The school division will inform the school community, and the public by posting an announcement of the case or cases on the Regina Public Schools’ Twitter page @RegPublicSchool and the school or collegiate’s website. A red, yellow or blue “COVID Update” image will be used on web and social media. The colours are used to distinguish separate reporting days and don’t have any special significance.
All staff and students are asked to please stay home and report any absences if they are not feeling well or if they have any of the symptoms described on the Government of Saskatchewan’s Self-Monitoring page.
Please remember that Regina Public Schools requires that masks to be worn in all schools and collegiates by students, staff and visitors. Masks must also be worn on all student transportation.
Regina Public Schools continues to emphasize safety practices including regular cleaning and sanitizing; cohorting, where possible; hand hygiene; and the provision of enhanced ventilation and airflow in all schools and division facilities.
Your cooperation and understanding are very much appreciated. These communication procedures are subject to change.
