Orange Shirt Day

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange shirts to honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and to learn more about the history of those schools. For a wonderful link to learn more about the importance of Orange Shirt Day from CBC kids click here . Although we cannot host a live assembly, students will participate in Orange Shirt Day activities in their classrooms and will be a part of a school wide initiative to honour those families impacted by the residential school experience past and present.
