Important Update

Thursday, September 16, 2021

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,

Each year, the school division monitors school enrolments and, based on mid September numbers, teacher staffing adjustments are made as needed, moving teachers from schools with fewer than estimated students to those that exceeded projections in order to maintain equitable class sizes Division-wide.

This year, our school has had a decrease in students attending versus the projected enrollment numbers.

Due to our lower than projected student enrolments, we are a school who will lose a homeroom teacher. Our staff member who is moved will be reallocated to a new school with increased enrolment or to an alternate position within the division. This movement occurs as a means of making staffing equitable for students, staff and school communities across all Regina Public Schools.

Tomorrow we will notify parents whose children will be relocated to new classrooms. Then, on Monday, September 20th students will start in their new classrooms.

Please know that we understand that student relocation to new classrooms will have an impact on students, staff and families. Know also that we will do our best approach the necessary adjustments with sensitivity and with care for all our students, and for our staff, too!

We are also asking for your assistance, as adults; our reaction to change will influence how our children feel about change.  We appreciate your support through this process.

Please reach out to our administration if you have any questions. We may be reached at ethelmilliken@rbe.sk.ca or by calling (306) 791-8489 if you have any concerns.

Sincerely,

Hillary Ibbott Neiszner                                                                           Linnea Wiszniak
