Terry Fox Neon Day

On September 1, 1980, after running for 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles) Terry stopped running outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario as his cancer had spread to his lungs. Each year, Canadians participate in a run to raise funds for Cancer research and to keep Terry's Marathon of Hope alive. Although we cannot collect donations or do a whole school Terry Fox run, we are asking students to dress in 1980's neon on Friday, October 2. Teachers may choose to take their own individual class out for a walk or run in Terry's memory that day. Families are encouraged to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation online if they would like to support this worthy charity. Donation information can be found here
