Playground Supervision and Parents

A gentle reminder to parents that when staff are out on the playground wearing orange vests, they are actively involved in playground supervision. This means they should have their full attention on the children and are not able to talk to/discuss issues with parents who are waiting at the fence. Parents who wish to speak to or meet with their child's teacher can arrange an appointment by e-mailing the teacher or by calling the school. Virtual 3 way conferences will be taking place on March 12. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping to keep our students safe!

Valentine Guidelines

We know many of our students enjoy preparing and sending Valentine cards to their classmates. We want to ensure that we are doing this in a safe way to keep everyone healthy. For this reason we will have the following guidelines for Valentines cards:

Self-Isolation

When there is a positive case of Covid-19 in a classroom or on a bus, the close contacts identified are asked to self-isolate. Self-isolation means that these close contacts should remain at home for the designated time and should not be attending school, worship services, sporting activities, recreational activities or other events outside of the home. Families of close contacts will have received a phone call and a letter with this important information. See the self-isolation sheet from the SHA for more information.

Bell Let's Talk Day

JANUARY 26, 2021 — Regina Public Schools places a priority on mental health and well-being for all students, staff and families. On Bell Let’s Talk Day (Thursday, January 28, 2021), join in the conversation and take action to support mental health and create positive change!

Supervision Reminder

Playground supervision for students who do not ride the bus begins at 8:53. We do not have supervisors for students who do not ride the bus prior to that time. Please do not send your students to school before 8:53! Classes begin at 9:08. If the temperature with the windchill is below -25 degrees Celsius according to Environment Canada, we will have indoor recess. Indoor recess for students who do not ride the bus begins at 8:53 as well.

COVID Case Identified, School Remains Open

January 25, 2021– the Saskatchewan Health Authority informed us that there was one case of COVID-19 in an individual at Ethel Milliken School.

For the safety of students and staff, and in consultation with Public Health, we have informed all close contacts and provided them information about self isolation. Affected students will begin remote learning and will not return to the school until February 4th.

Letters will be sent to all school families on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
