Our Grade 1-8 Celebration Conferences are scheduled for Friday, November 24th. There will be no school for students on this day. Our Kindergarten Celebration Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th. There will be no Kindergarten classes on these two days.

The students of Ethel Milliken School will participate in their first ever Learn-a-thon to raise funds to support the completion of the outdoor learning space. 

This type of fundraiser will provide a positive educational experience for all of our families, as it allows families to work together to support their child(ren) with their learning experience. All students from K-8 will participate. Each grade will be given a list of grade appropriate knowledge questions to practice in preparation for their final test on Monday, November 6th.

Ethel Milliken School staff, students and the Ethel Milliken School Community Council have united together to finish a special project. This special project has been ongoing for the past few years and we are now ready to complete the necessary fundraising and planning by the end of this current school year. This is a huge undertaking and with the support of our families it is definitely doable. The proposal is for an outdoor learning space to serve three community groups:

1. Teachers and students of Ethel Milliken School by providing an outdoor learning classroom

As of Thursday, September 21st, all of our students were moved accordingly into their new classrooms. Thank you to our families during this transition period for their support and trust that decisions were made with each student's best interests in mind. 

Thank you to all of our families who attended our open house on September 13th and participated in the scavenger hunt for 15 words to decode our school's Mission Statement - We are a community of learners who respect ourselves and others. 

We were informed on Friday, September 15th that Ethel Milliken School will be losing a teacher due to our lower than expected enrollment for 2017-18. Some of our classrooms will be reconfigured as we move from 10 teachers to 9 teachers. Our goal is to ensure the least amount of disruption as possible for our students. Families will be informed this week if their children will be moved to another classroom. Students will start in their new classrooms on Friday, September 22nd. Stay tuned . . .
